Great News

Hi Green Acres Students,

I have GREAT NEWS.  The Magic Tree House books are going to be made into a Movie!!!!!
I don't know when but I can't wait to see it.

The new book comes out in late July and its about Dragons.

A new Dr Seuss book is coming out soon to just in time to vote this fall.

I hope everyone is reading this summer. I just bought lots of new books for the library this summer and can't wait to show you.

I went to a Reading Workshop and found lots of New Books for our Library.
I also had my picture taken with the author of the Sugar.  I have a few books that she sign for our school.

Happy Summer Green Acres Students,

I was on vacation last week and I found a new books store.  You know how I love books.  When you go on vacation look for a new library or book store and see what new books out.  Here are some books that look good to read this summer.

If you give a Mouse a Brownie will be out in October 2016.

I just watched Finding Dory and it was a wonderful movie. Just keep swimming.......

What a great day to read.  Let's keep our reading going so you can take AR quizzes in September when we get back to school.  We have a new Principal this school year .  I need you to make your reading goals so we can  color Mrs.Krueger hair GREEN.    ;)

Sign up for the Summer reading program at the Santa Cruz Public Library.

Our popular summer reading program for young readers (going into grades K-12) will run June 1st through September 5th this year. We're challenging kids to read 6 books--at least 3 from our recommended reading list (see below) and up to 3 of their choice. Complete the challenge and not only will you have read some terrific books, but you'll earn excellent rewards: A $5 Bookshop gift card, a free scoop from the Penny Ice Creamery, a free slice from Pizza My Heart, and a special prize from the Santa Cruz Warriors!

How to get started: Come to Bookshop Santa Cruz to pick up a summer reading bookmark for your age level or download one of the pdfs listed below. You are going to want to hang onto this because it's also your reading tracking form that you're going to use all summer and turn back into us before school starts. Pick out your first book and start reading!  All summer reading books are on display at Bookshop Santa Cruz.

What you get to read: We have put together a great list of 6 - 8 recommended paperbacks per age group. To complete the challenge, you get to choose at least three of these recommended books and up to three books of your own choosing--for a total of 6 great books--to read over the summer.
